Wake up.
Shower.
Grab coffee.
Skip breakfast.
Brush teeth.
Out the door.
Get to work.
Stare at screens all morning.
Lunch.
Stare at more screens all afternoon.
Go home.
Dinner.
Stare at more screens all night.
Go to bed.
Sadly, this describes the lives of millions of people.
No wonder many count down days until retirement.
This is NOT living.
You have the power to change your life; no one is going to do it for you.
It’s time for an adventure, to do what you’ve always wanted to do for a long time.
It all starts with a first step.
Think of it as an experiment, just trying something out for kicks.
Sure, it’s scary.
Others might say it’s silly or stupid.
But it’s your life.
It’s your story.
Go write one worth reading.
You are so right on Jim. This use to describe me perfectly. I am still a work in progress but I am growing towards – “It’s time for an adventure, to do what you’ve always wanted to do for a long time.”
Jim, I’m taking the first step with writing my first book! Sure some people think I’m nuts. I’m okay with it. They can stick to their version of boring. I’ll create my own version of awesome!
I like that Rick “Create my won version of awesome.” – Awesome does come to those who create it, not those who complain about being bored. – Now if I can just convince my 15yr old daughter of that
It’s amazing how hard it is to remember that we are the only ones who will change our story. It’s so easy to hang back and wait for something great to happen instead…except that never works.
I love it. Dave Jackson from the School of Podcasting always closes his podcast with “live a life worth podcasting.” With the same spirit, “live a life worth talking about.”
Thanks my friend. I hope this inspires you to go write a chapter, sentence, or paragraph in that amazing story.
Ever think about writing some fan fiction for 24? There are several 24 books out there and I think you combined with Joel and other buddies could really, really have a blast writing it.
Nice idea. It’ll have to be on the back burner, though. 🙂
